Help with kindergartens and schools for Ukrainian children in Slovakia: what services are provided for free

It is not easy to arrange life in a new country, especially if you are moving with children. Placement of children in kindergartens and schools or admission to universities is still a burden in one’s own country, and abroad – and ready. However, Ukrainian refugees are helped in this matter. For example, the specialized project “Ukrainian student” operates in Slovakia.

As part of the program, which is financed by the country’s government, Ukrainians are offered help with registering children for school and finding kindergartens. Assistance with admission to universities for older children is also provided.

“Ukrainian student” is also an online consultation on the necessary documents for the child, health care. In addition, the project portal contains materials of various levels of complexity for learning the Slovak language. Earlier, as part of the initiative, the government helped purchase computer equipment for refugee schoolchildren.

We will remind that in May reduced the list of free medical services that Ukrainians can receive in Slovakia. In particular, it is about dental treatment and oral hygiene. These restrictions apply not only to our fellow citizens, but also to all residents of the country who have health insurance. Funds that were planned to be used for dental treatment will be redistributed to other medical areas.
