Hundreds of people came to Andrii Parubiy’s funeral
September 2 in the Lviv Cathedral of St. George took place ceremony of the funeral of People’s Deputy Andrii Parubiy. Hundreds of people came to say goodbye to the deputy – colleagues from the parliament, public figures and other interested people.
People’s deputy Roman Kostenko stated that he had known Parubiy since the time of the Revolution of Dignity, but became close to him already after the start of the full-scale invasion.
“I, as an officer, took part in the defense of Mykolaiv, in the Mykolaiv direction, he, as a soldier in the trenches, defended the country during a full-scale invasion. Then we met many times, in particular in the trenches or at my headquarters, and had long conversations about the war and after the war. He revealed himself to me from another side: not just as a strategic person, but as one who is ready to pick up a machine gun and go to defend the country on a par with ordinary soldiers, Kostenko noted.
He also dismissed claims of “inactivity” Parubia recently:
“Here the question is what is active. He worked quite actively in the committee of the Verkhovna Rada. Even without appearing on TV, his words, decisions and advice could become key in making certain decisions, especially strategic ones.
The leader of the Crimean Tatar people, Mustafa Dzhemilev, and the former Acting President of Ukraine, Oleksandr Turchynov, stated that the murder of Parubiy was traced to Russia.
“The scoundrels from the Kremlin are trying to destroy the flower of the Ukrainian nation. This is their main goal. The last name of the killer does not matter – there are those who gave the order. And this is an order from the Kremlin, Turchynov stressed.
He also emphasized that the murder of a deputy in Lviv shows that there is no rear in Ukraine today.
