If necessary, Ukraine will provide education for children in the Kursk region on the spot: Deputy Minister

Ukraine is ready to ensure the educational process for children in the Kursk region if necessary, but there is no question of moving minors to Ukrainian territory, said the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Mykhailo Vynnytskyi.

“International humanitarian law prohibits the movement of children across borders during occupation or hostilities. We categorically condemn our adversary for moving children of Ukrainian citizens to the Russian Federation. This is a gross violation of human rights. Therefore, the question of moving children from the Kursk region to Ukraine even is not considered“, Vynnytskyi emphasized during the briefing on August 22, writes “Interfax-Ukraine”.

He also added: “If the situation develops in the same direction, then, in my opinion, by the end of September – the beginning of October, we will be forced to develop a plan to provide education for minors in these territories.”

In addition, Vynnytskyi noted that the Ministry of Education has already discussed the idea of joining the agricultural technical school in Suzhi to the Sumy National Agrarian University, but no concrete steps in this direction have been taken yet.

“There is an agricultural technical school in Suja, and it was proposed to join it to the Sumy National Agrarian University. This idea has already been discussed in the ministry, but at this time we have not taken any concrete steps in this direction.”, – noted the deputy minister.
