In 2025, the Ministry of Defense attracted over $6 billion to strengthen the defense industry
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in 2025 ensured the attraction of over 6 billion US dollars to support and develop the domestic defense-industrial complex. This was reported by Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal.
In particular, almost 1.8 billion dollars were allocated to the production of Ukrainian weapons under the scheme known as the “Danish model”. Ukraine received another over 4.3 billion dollars through direct purchases by partner states from local manufacturers to meet the needs of the Defense Forces.
In addition, over 1.1 billion dollars came in the form of profits from frozen Russian assets. The Minister also emphasized European prospects: Ukraine has submitted its own projects within the framework of the SAFE mechanism, the expected amount of financing of which reaches about $5 billion.
“The Ukrainian defense industry has been growing steadily since 2022 and already in 2025 reached production capacities at the level of $35 billion. We are grateful to all our partners for supporting Ukrainian defense capabilities and the development of our defense industry”, – Denys Shmyhal emphasized.
