Ukrainian families can already apply for basic social assistance through the “Action” application. This is notified by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity.
“Basic social assistance is a new approach to supporting families in difficult life circumstances. It transforms 5 types of state assistance into one essential state support, so families will not need to prepare documents for each of these types. The amount of assistance is tied to the basic amount, which is currently UAH 4,500. The amount of assistance is calculated individually and is equal to the difference between the total amount of the basic amount for all family members and their average monthly income,” the ministry noted.
The department emphasized that a family entitled to basic assistance can choose: switch to a new support format or keep the current “classic” payments. To use the service, you need a biometric document – an ID card or a foreign passport – and a verified tax number (RNOKPP).
Currently, in the application, it is possible to issue basic assistance to those who receive one or more of the following payments: assistance to low-income families, child assistance to single mothers, temporary assistance to children whose parents avoid paying alimony or are absent.
“At the same time, this service is temporarily unavailable for recipients of child support who are raised in large families. These families can apply in writing to the nearest service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine“, the department added.
