From January 1, 2026, the minimum wage and the subsistence minimum were increased in Ukraine
Since the beginning of 2026, updated social standards have come into force in Ukraine, which provide for an increase in the minimum wage and the subsistence minimum. The corresponding indicators are set out in the Law on the State Budget of Ukraine for 2026.
Since January 1, the minimum wage in monthly terms has increased to 8,647 hryvnias. In hourly terms, the minimum wage is 52 hryvnias. The new indicators will be valid throughout 2026 without further revision.
Compared to 2025, the minimum monthly wage increased by 647 hryvnias – from 8,000 hryvnias, and the hourly rate increased by 4 hryvnias – from 48 hryvnias.
At the same time, the minimum wage, which is used as a calculation value for determining payments under court decisions, remained unchanged and amounts to 1,600 hryvnias.
In addition, from January 1, 2026, the subsistence minimum for able-bodied persons was set at 3,328 hryvnias, which is 300 hryvnias more than in 2025.
For other socio-demographic groups, the subsistence minimum is:

for children under 6 years old — 2,817 hryvnias (in 2025 — 2,563 hryvnias);

for children from 6 to 18 years old — 3,512 hryvnias (in 2025 — 3,196 UAH);

for persons who have lost their ability to work, – 2,595 UAH (against 2,361 UAH last year).
It is separately determined that the subsistence minimum for able-bodied persons, which is used when establishing the official salaries of judges, prosecutors of district prosecutor’s offices, employees of other state bodies whose remuneration is regulated by special laws, as well as employees of tax and customs authorities, in 2026 will remain at the level that was in force for the relevant body as of December 31, 2025.
In 2026 In 2018, the level of ensuring the subsistence minimum for the provision of state social assistance to low-income families was determined as a percentage of the subsistence minimum for the main population groups:

for able-bodied persons — 60%;

for persons who have lost their ability to work and persons with disabilities — 100%;

for children — 145% of the corresponding subsistence minimum.
