In the Dnipropetrovsk region, eight mines, where 2,595 miners were working, were cut off from power as a result of a Russian attack
On November 6, as a result of another shelling of the Dnipropetrovsk region by Russian troops, eight coal mines were left without electricity. At the time of the attack, 2,595 miners were underground. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
Rescuers, together with mine workers, quickly organized the evacuation of miners to the surface. According to preliminary information, there were no victims or injured.
“Russia continues its energy terror. Another strike has endangered the lives of thousands of miners. Russia continues to fight civilians. The Russians’ tactics are clear – leave Ukrainians without light and heat in winter”, – noted Energy Minister Svitlana Grinchuk.
Recall that on October 19, the Russian Federation carried out a massive attack on a coal mine of the DTEK energy company in the Dnipropetrovsk region, as a result of which almost 200 miners were trapped underground.
On August 26, Russian troops also struck another DTEK mine. Then one worker was killed, three more were injured. On the same day, the enemy shelled several settlements near Dobropillya. As a result, some local mines were left without electricity, and hundreds of miners were trapped underground. All of them were later successfully evacuated to the surface.
