In Toretsk, fighting continues for every entrance: OTU ‘Luhansk’

Russian troops continue to attack the eastern outskirts of Toretsk, in the Donetsk region, where fierce fighting continues. The operational and tactical situation remains tense, because battles are being fought for literally every house and entrance.

As Anastasia Bobovnikova, spokeswoman for the operational-tactical group “Luhansk”, reported on the air of the national telethon, Russian troops managed to partially capture Tsentralna Street in the direction of the Tsentralna mine. However, Ukrainian defenders continue active defense, repelling attacks and eliminating enemy firing points.

“We repulse the firing points that the enemy is trying to capture and constantly restore our own positions, not allowing them to advance significantly”, she noted.

Nelypivka, a village northwest of New York, which is a suburb of Toretsk, also became the scene of fierce fighting. According to Bobovnikova, the Russian troops use the same tactics as in Toretsk: first, massive artillery fire, after which they carry out assaults in small groups of 3-5 people.

Regarding the situation in the area of Chasiv Yar, the spokeswoman noted that it remains difficult, but under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: “Despite all the enemy’s attempts, he failed to surround Chasiv Yar.”

Russian troops continue to use various military equipment in the Siver region, in particular, infantry fighting vehicles and motorcycles. On October 6, the invaders tried to launch an assault, but Ukrainian forces repelled the attack, destroying 20 Russian soldiers and their equipment.

Vasyl Chinchyk, the head of Toretska MBA, previously reported that before the start of the full-scale war, about 70,000 people lived in the community. Currently, only about 1,200 residents remain in the city. Those interested can make an appointment for evacuation by phone: 099 601 94 91 or 066 952 63 60.
