The former head of the Mykolaiv Regional MSEK, who was exposed in a corruption scheme related to evasion of mobilization, transferred more than 4.7 million UAH to help the Ukrainian military and entered into an agreement with the investigation. This was reported by the press service of the Central District Court of Mykolaiv in Telegram.
This is Vera Belyakova, who was exposed in October 2024. During searches, more than 450 thousand dollars in cash were found in her possession, as well as a collection of jewelry hidden at various addresses. Law enforcement officers also established that Belyakova’s son has a Russian passport.
At the beginning of the court hearing on March 12, the defense asked to attach to the case materials a receipt for the transfer of UAH 4,737,860 as a charitable contribution to one of the military units.
The prosecutor announced an indictment, according to which the accused, giving instructions to subordinates, organized the issuance of a false MSEK conclusion regarding a conscript. As a result, he received the third group of disability, which gave him the right to a deferral from conscription.
In addition, the woman is accused of false declaration. Also in court, the accused pleaded guilty and pledged to cooperate with the investigation in other criminal proceedings and agreed to the agreed sentence of five years in prison with a probationary period to be determined by the court.
In addition, she should be banned from holding administrative positions in healthcare institutions for three years. The parties asked the court to approve the agreement, and the defense also requested a minimum probationary period of one year.
