The Ministry of Defense presented FPV drones controlled via fiber optics
On January 2, the Main Directorate of Defense Innovations of the Ministry of Defense carried out testing FPV drones controlled via fiber optic cable. The event brought together a number of domestic manufacturers who presented more than ten models of drones capable of carrying up to three kilograms of payload.
During demonstration flights, the operation of drones was observed by experienced UAV operators and potential users who will be able to apply these technologies at the front.
“The enemy continues to build up its capabilities in the use of fiber-optic drone control technologies, so it is imperative to eliminate its advantages in this segment. Domestic manufacturers demonstrate their readiness to quickly adapt to modern challenges of war and implement the latest developments.
Today, in confirmation of this, we see the successful operation of the means and their effectiveness and, no less important, the readiness for rapid scaling of these technologies to meet the needs of the army.”, – noted the head of the Unmanned Aviation Systems Department of the Main Innovation Department of the Ministry of Defense, Lt. Col. Yevgeny Tkachenko.
According to him, several presented models are already completing the codification process and will soon enter service with the Ukrainian army.
