In Ukraine, a Unified Electronic Geosystem of Subsoil Use was created

The State Service of Geology and Subsoils of Ukraine, fulfilling the requirements of the Code of Ukraine on Subsoils, created a single state electronic geo-information system for the use of subsoils. Its purpose is to form a single information space in the field of geological study and rational use of the subsoil by combining relevant information resources and optimizing the processes of joint use of technical and software.

“Digital transformation is one of the key priorities of the Government. We are systematically introducing modern electronic services to increase the level of transparency and efficiency of tasks related to subsoil use. Some components of EDEGS were put into industrial use. The next step will be the creation of an annual reporting service in form 6-GR on the production and use of combustible liquid, combustible gaseous minerals, said the head of the State Geonadre Oleg Gotsynets.

The main tasks of the Unified State Electronic Geoinformation System are to keep records of subsoil plots provided for use, to store data in the field of geological study and rational use of subsoil, to ensure effective interaction between subsoil users, authorities and local governments, as well as to form proper reporting on subsoil use issues.

The following components have already been introduced into industrial exploitation: the state register of special permits for subsoil use; state register of oil and gas wells; state register of artesian wells; catalog of geological information; data on state registration of geological exploration works; information on applications for obtaining, extending the term of validity or making changes to special permits for the use of subsoil.

Access to these state registers during martial law is open in the statistics section and is free of charge. Subsoil users can use registers after authorization and only for their own wells or special permits. Other components, in particular the State Subsurface Fund of Ukraine, the State Water Cadastre, and others, will be added to the system as planned after their creation.
