In Ukraine, they developed an engine that provides a rocket flight of 250 km
Ukrainian aerospace startup Scopa Industries has started production of a self-starting jet engine capable of providing a rocket flight up to 250 km away. This was reported by the Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
“You can hear and see with your own eyes the work of a Ukrainian jet engine from Scopa Industries. Thanks to the Brave1 grant, the company has started to produce an engine with self-launch, which ensures a rocket flight of 250 km, says the message.
According to the minister, this engine is distinguished by its simple design, reliability and speed of production. It is already supplied to other Ukrainian missile system developers. The released video shows the engine in action – how it looks and sounds when starting.
Fedorov noted that the Brave1 cluster announced two new competitions: for the creation of tactical ballistic missiles – the Ukrainian analogue of HIMARS, as well as anti-aircraft missile systems for combating drones. Applications can be submitted until September 9, after which developers who pass the inspection and sign the NDA agreement will be able to receive funding of over UAH 100 million. Additional information is available on the Brave1 website.
