In Volyn, there is an action to convert Russian books into toilet paper, which will then be sent to the front

In Volyn continues an action during which local residents voluntarily hand over Russian-language literature for recycling. The organizers of the event are volunteers of the public organization UA Resistance Foundation.
According to the volunteers, the purpose of the action is to “liberate public space from Russian influence and support the Ukrainian army.” The collected books are transported to the “Kovel Paper Factory”, where they are turned into toilet paper: later it is sent to the front to meet the needs of the defenders of Ukraine.
According to the volunteers, one book of medium thickness makes it possible to produce one roll of paper. So far, activists have collected about one ton of waste paper. The promotion will last until the end of November, but its popularity may encourage an extension in the future.
“We want to motivate people to give up everything Russian, including literature, which often carries propaganda. Instead, we create something useful for the front. At the same time, we call for donations for the needs of the army.”, – emphasized Daryna Panchenko, one of the authors of the initiative.
Books can be brought every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 16:00 to 20:00 at the address: Nezalezhnosti Street, 94, Kovel city. Also, volunteers are ready to help with the removal of literature – for this, it is enough to call the indicated contacts. The factory explained that one book of medium thickness can become the basis for the production of one roll of toilet paper, which will later be transferred to the front line.
