In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Ukrainian military destroyed the Russian Chernika drone for the first time. This was reported by the General Chereshnya company.
“Russia launched the Chernika.” Zaporizhzhia met it with Chereshnya. For the first time, the Chernika was destroyed in the Zaporizhzhia region, a new strike platform that Russia is actively using in frontline regions,” the company said.
According to General Chereshnya, the drone was intercepted by the Posipaki unit of the 39th anti-aircraft missile regiment and fighters of the 23rd brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine “Khortytsia”. The General Chereshnya AIR interceptor drone was used for this purpose.
The company reported that Chernyka is a flying wing strike platform. Its claimed range is up to 100 km, and its cruising speed is 75 km/h. The drone is also resistant to electronic warfare.
The weight of the Chernyka warhead ranges from 0.7 kg in the basic version to 3.5 kg in the enhanced version. At the same time, the General Chernyka AIR interceptor drone, according to the manufacturer, can stay in the air for up to 40 minutes, reach speeds of up to 170 km/h, and operate at altitudes of up to 6 km.
Previously, General Chernyka AIR had already destroyed a rare Russian Klyn AI kamikaze drone. The new interception indicates further use of specialized anti-drone equipment by Ukrainian units.
