Iryna Farion’s daughter asked for state protection due to threats on social networks

On January 3, the daughter of the famous linguist and former MP Iryna Farion Sofia Semchyshyn turned to with a request for state protection due to numerous threats received by her on social networks.
According to Semchyshyn, anonymous messages with death threats arrive regularly and concern not only her, but also her children. She noted that she has no information about the people who send these messages, but believes that her life is in real danger.
“The threats are in Russian. I believe that my life is in danger. I would like to be provided with security measures.” she declared.
Semchyshyn also said that the protection provided to her by the National Police since August 2024 was withdrawn on January 2, 2025. She plans to contact law enforcement to help protect her and her family.
We will remind that on January 3, a preliminary court hearing in the case of the murder of Iryna Farion began in Lviv. The main suspect is 18-year-old Vyacheslav Zinchenko, who was remanded in custody by the court until March 4.
