Israel carried out airstrikes on the capital of Yemen
The Israeli Air Force launched airstrikes on the capital of Yemen, Sana’a, which is under the control of the Houthis. As a result of the attack, at least two people were killed and 35 others were injured. This was reported by The Times of Israel.
The operation was a response to the Houthis’ use of cluster munitions, which was established during the investigation. The strikes were directed at the military complex, where the presidential palace, a fuel depot and two power plants are located. The Israel Defense Forces said the operation was carried out following Houthi attacks on Israeli territory using ballistic missiles and drones carrying explosives. The last such shelling took place on August 22.
The Israeli military added that the presidential palace in Sana’a is part of a military complex that the Houthis use to carry out terrorist operations. At the same time, local mass media report that the palace building itself has been abandoned for a long time.
The targeted power plants are critical facilities for providing electricity to the Houthis’ military activities. It is known that about a dozen Israeli Air Force planes took part in the attack, including fighter jets and refueling planes.
We will remind you that on June 15, the Israeli military already struck the territory of Yemen, probably eliminating one of the key commanders of the Houthis. It was also reported that Israel attacked the group’s facilities, including destroying the last passenger plane that remained at Sana’a International Airport, in response to the launch of rockets on its territory a day earlier.
