Ivano-Frankivsk introduces language inspectors due to the spread of the Russian language
Language inspectors will appear in Ivano-Frankivsk to counter the spread of the Russian language. About this reported city mayor Ruslan Marcinkiv in his video message.
Martsinkiv noted that he held a meeting with language ombudsman Taras Kremen, during which they discussed measures to popularize the Ukrainian language, including social advertising and other initiatives planned in the city.
“In Ivano-Frankivsk, we will introduce a public initiative – language inspectors”, said Marcinkiv.
He also added that more details about the initiative will be announced later, when it becomes a real implementation.
The mayor noted that the number of people who communicate in Russian has increased in the city, and this is considered a problem for the country. He urged residents to actively participate in language courses to support the development of the Ukrainian language.
In addition, earlier, on September 5, Martsinkiv announced plans to deal with those who illegally throw out bulky waste and construction debris, warning that mobilization measures may be applied to violators.
Also, on August 15, the mayor announced the decision to strengthen mobilization due to the fact that the Ivano-Frankivsk region lags behind other regions of Ukraine in mobilization indicators.
