Kharkiv launches new verification system for evacuees
The humanitarian aid coordination center in the Kharkiv region announced the launch of a unified centralized verification system of the database of evacuees from the war zone. This innovation should eliminate duplication of support and ensure a fair distribution of aid. About this journalist of the publication “Slobid regionYevhen Kolyada, head of the Coordination Humanitarian Center of the Kharkiv region, said.
“We are developing a system that will be implemented in all hubs operating in Kharkiv. This should create a level playing field when receiving assistance“, Yevhen Kolyada noted.
Evacuation transit points provide urgent assistance to people who have arrived from de-occupied or front-line territories. At the same time, hubs operating in Kharkiv provide longer-term support.
Also, as Yevhen Kolyada noted, a number of informational materials will be prepared for the evacuees with data on the operation of the centers and available assistance.
In addition, assistance in employment is planned for those who were forced to leave their homes. Job centers will offer jobs in the hubs, boosting the local economy and helping people find new opportunities.
“When applying to the Employment Center, people from certain communities will also be offered work in hubs. For example, we employed a woman from one of the communities who has a minor child. The employment center referred her to the Coordination Center, and now she works on the welfare issue, helping her fellow countrymen. Internally displaced persons can also take part in socially useful works in the hubs“, said Serhiy Zhuk, director of the “Source of Revival” Charitable Foundation.
