Kyiv authorities plan to spend 500 million hryvnias on repairing a section of the highway less than 2 kilometers long

The municipal corporation “Kyivavtodor” signed a contract with “Onur Konstruktion International” LLC for the overhaul of the City Street – the section from Palladina Avenue to the Kyiv-Gostomel road. The cost of the work is almost 502 million hryvnias, data from the Prozorro system show.

The repair work will begin in November and should be completed by the end of October 2026. The contractor provides a guarantee for the work performed – five years for the asphalt concrete pavement and ten years for the base of the road surface.

The City Street is a highway of city-wide importance and part of the Great Ring Road. It was built in 1950 and reconstructed in 1996. This road carries intensive freight and passenger traffic, in particular transport from the cities of Kyiv region – Bucha, Irpen and Borodyanka.

“Kyivavtodor” announced a tender for major repairs in August, explaining the need for restoration by the fact that the street is in unsatisfactory technical condition: the road surface has numerous potholes, cracks and ruts along its entire length.

The major repair project involves the complete replacement of the road surface on a 1.75-kilometer section, the arrangement of bicycle infrastructure and new sidewalks, lowering curbs at pedestrian crossings to ensure barrier-free access, as well as the repair and creation of a new storm sewer network.
