Kyivstar acquired Uklon for $155.2 million

The mobile operator “Kyivstar” acquired 97% of the shares of the Ukrainian taxi-hailing and delivery service Uklon for $155.2 million. informs the parent company of Veon.

“Kyivstar’s investment in Uklon is more than an exciting business expansion – it is a statement of confidence in the digital development of Ukraine. We look forward to exploring the possibility of expanding Uklon beyond Ukraine and Uzbekistan with the support of our digital operators in Kazakhstan, Pakistan and Bangladesh.” – noted Kaan Terzioglu, CEO of VEON Group and Chairman of the Kyivstar Supervisory Board.

The agreement is part of Kyivstar’s strategy to expand its presence in the field of digital consumer services. The total acquisition cost was $155.2 million for 97% of the shares of the Uklon group of companies.

“Uklon CEO Serhiy Hryshkov is expected to remain in his position and continue to develop the company’s products and services in Ukraine and abroad,” – says the release.

Currently, Uklon works in 27 cities of Ukraine and cooperates with more than 100 thousand driver-partners. In 2024, the service made more than 100 million trips and more than 3 million deliveries. In 2023, the company entered the delivery market and expanded its operations in Uzbekistan, where Veon operates through BeelineUzbekistan.
