Losses of over UAH 15 million were discovered in the purchase of paint and linoleum for Ukrzaliznytsia
A case was sent to court against four people suspected of embezzling more than UAH 15 million during the purchase of repair and construction materials for JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”.
According to investigation data, in 2022, the organizer of the scheme, through controlled officials of the “Production Support Center” branch, ensured victory in tenders for paints and linoleum for predetermined companies.
Investigators established that if third-party companies participated in the tenders or offered a lower price, such tenders were canceled. After that, the participants in the scheme concluded contracts for the supply of products at an inflated price. As a result, according to the investigation, during September 2022 – April 2023, Ukrzaliznytsia suffered losses of more than UAH 15 million, which the defendants disposed of at their own discretion.
The scheme was exposed in June 2025, and the pre-trial investigation was completed in September of the same year. Law enforcement officers also established that in February-April 2023, the same individuals tried to repeat the transaction, but this was prevented by the investigation of the NABU and the SAPO.
In addition, a few days ago, an indictment was sent to the court against two former officials of Ukrzaliznytsia and two other individuals in the case of the so-called transformer scheme.
