Zelensky spoke about the US elections: We see three different ways

Ukraine does not yet know what the US position will be after the presidential elections, but it is considering three possible scenarios of the development of events. This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi interview Financial Times.

Zelensky noted that the outcome of the elections in the USA, which will be held next month, will be decisive for the future of Ukraine, in particular, its aspirations to join NATO. The President emphasized that the various candidates have significantly different positions regarding support for Ukraine.

Vice President of the United States and candidate from the Democratic Party, Kamala Harris, said that she will consider Ukraine’s accession to NATO in the future. At the same time, ex-president of the USA and candidate from the Republican Party Donald Trump criticized the current US military aid to Ukraine and expressed his desire to quickly “settle” the conflict, if he is elected.

“I don’t know what the offer will be to us after the elections (in the US, – ed.). We see three different ways forward”Zelenskyi said.

One scenario is continued support from the US and its allies, but with some caveats due to fears of possible risks. Zelensky noted that there are other options, but at the moment it is difficult to predict which of them will become a reality.

“This is a very sensitive issue for our citizens”, – concluded the president.

We will also remind you that earlier Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the USA, Germany, France and Italy are striving to reach agreements on granting Ukraine permission to use long-range weapons to strike targets on the territory of Russia.
