McDonald’s plans to open 11 new restaurants in Ukraine in 2026
McDonald’s plans to open 11 new restaurants in Ukraine in 2026, reported McDonald’s Development Director in Ukraine Vitaly Stefurak.
“Next year we plan to open at least 11 restaurants. And in 2027-28 we expect to accelerate the development of the chain to 15 new establishments per year. We see prospects for development in Ukraine, so we are working to gradually increase investments”, – said Vitaly Stefurak.
According to him, the initial plan provided for nine openings in 2025, but it was adjusted. As a result, the chain will expand by 11 establishments: by the end of the year, three more new and one renovated restaurant will be opened. Last year, UAH 1.8 billion was invested in the development and modernization of the network, and this year, about UAH 2 billion.
In 2025, McDonald’s achieved its strategic goal of opening restaurants in the Transcarpathian region, which remained the only region without a brand representation. Regarding future expansion, Stefurak noted that the company plans to focus on increasing the number of restaurants in cities where the network already operates.
“Our priority areas for development are Kyiv, cities with a population of over a million, regional centers and their satellites (provided there is sufficient traffic), as well as locations on popular highways. Today we are focusing on central and western Ukraine, ”Stefurak emphasized.
He noted popular tourist locations as one of the promising areas of development.
“We will have final decisions on the development plan for 2026 at the beginning of the year, but I will lift the curtain a little: yes, new establishments may appear in tourist centers in western Ukraine next year,” added Vitaliy Stefurak.
