Moscow said that Putin agreed to Orban’s idea of a “Christmas truce”

The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmytro Peskov once again stated that Vladimir Putin supported the initiative of the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban regarding the “Christmas truce”. However, according to him, Ukraine, in particular Volodymyr Zelenskyi, rejected this proposal.

This is reported by the Russian mass media.

“You know that Putin is talking to Orban. And Putin supported the peaceful efforts of the Prime Minister of Hungary regarding the “Christmas truce”. But at the same time, these efforts were not supported by the Ukrainian side, namely Zelensky. This is the situation.” – said Peskov.

In addition, Peskov declared the Kremlin’s readiness to resume peace talks based on the so-called “Istanbul agreements”.

“Putin repeatedly repeated that the negotiations could be resumed on the basis of the Istanbul agreements. They were agreed, but then the Ukrainian side also left the negotiating table.” – said the press secretary of the President of Russia.
