Mykhailo Fedorov will participate in the meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council and “Ramstein” for the first time

On February 12, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov will visit Brussels, where a meeting of defense ministers of the Alliance countries will be held at NATO headquarters. For Fedorov, this will be his first participation in the meetings of the Ukraine-NATO Council and the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine in the “Ramstein” format. This is stated in the program of the NATO ministerial meeting.

On the morning of February 12, the defense ministers of the Alliance member countries will gather for a meeting of the North Atlantic Council. It is followed by an informal meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council with the participation of Mykhailo Fedorov, who was appointed Minister of Defense last month.

A two-hour meeting in the “Rammstein” format will be held in the afternoon, dedicated to issues of military support for Ukraine. After the talks, Fedorov, together with the Ministers of Defense of Germany and Great Britain, as well as the NATO Secretary General, will hold a joint press conference.

The previous “Rammstein” meeting took place in December. At that time, Ukraine was represented at the meeting by Denys Shmyhal, who held the position of Minister of Defense.

In early February, it was reported that Mykhailo Fedorov held a coordination meeting with the NATO Secretary General and the defense ministers of Great Britain and Germany on the eve of the next meeting of the “Ramstein” format. According to Fedorov, during the conversation, the parties discussed key priorities for supporting Ukraine.

According to media reports, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth will not participate in the ministerial meeting of NATO states scheduled for February 12.
