Mykola Tyshchenko will be forcibly taken to court for ignoring hearings where he is a key figure

The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of the city of Dnipro has decided to apply compulsory summons to the People’s Deputy of Ukraine Mykola Tyshchenko. This measure was due to the fact that the parliamentarian systematically ignored previous court hearings in the case, where he is a key figure. The corresponding court decision was officially reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The case concerns an incident in Dnipro, during which a former serviceman of the special unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kraken, Dmytro Mazokha, was illegally deprived of liberty and beaten. Currently, the trial is at the stage of studying written evidence submitted by the prosecution.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the court had previously applied administrative measures to the MP, imposing a fine of 3,328 hryvnias on him.

However, Mykola Tyshchenko continued to ignore his procedural duties. Due to another failure to appear, the prosecution was forced to file a motion for the defendant’s forced appearance, which the court found justified.

According to the court’s decision, law enforcement agencies must ensure the MP’s appearance at the next hearing, scheduled for May 14. Mykola Tyshchenko is charged under the article on illegal deprivation of liberty committed by a group of persons in a prior conspiracy. If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison.

In addition to the main defendant, the case of the attack on the former serviceman also includes the deputy’s bodyguard, who has already entered into an agreement with the investigation and has pledged to testify. At the same time, an official investigation was conducted into the Kyiv police officer who participated in the clash in the Dnipro, as a result of which he was officially dismissed from the ranks of law enforcement agencies.
