The National Police told how they will react to curfew violations on New Year’s Eve
On New Year’s Eve, law enforcement officers will monitor curfew compliance. Violators may be detained and taken to police stations to establish the circumstances. About this stated the head of the Department of Preventive Activities of the National Police Maksym Akhrameev during the telethon.
“The National Police, all outfits will respond to persons who are on the streets during the curfew. We will treat people with understanding, different reasons. That is, if it was an immediate need or it was necessary to go to the hospital or some other reasons – we will be understanding”, – explained Akhrameev.
In case of violation, persons will be detained to clarify the circumstances. However, there is currently no legal liability for violating the curfew in Ukraine.
Since December 24, the police has maximally increased the presence of personnel in places of mass gathering of people, as well as on the country’s highways. In each region, its specificities are taken into account, especially in areas where hostilities continue or which border Russia.
“We work in every region and every region has its own specifics. There are regions where hostilities are taking place, there are regions bordering the Russian Federation. It has its own terms of service.” – noted Akhrameev.
A curfew was introduced in Ukraine after the start of a full-scale war to ensure security and maintain law and order. This restriction helps to reduce the risks of sabotage, control the movement of enemy agents, and ensure peace in the complex conditions of martial law.
