NABU establishes all the circumstances in the case of Umerov’s possible abuse of power
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) is conducting an investigation into the criminal proceedings opened on the basis of allegations of possible abuse of power by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov. NABU director Semyon Kryvonos reportedthat the investigation establishes all the circumstances of the case and possible suspects.
“The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, all the circumstances are being established: whether there is an element of crime or not, whether there are suspects or not.”Kryvonos noted.
At the same time, he emphasized that the criminal proceedings were initiated based on a statement about possible facts of abuse, and not against a specific person.
We will remind that the Anti-Corruption Center (CPC) filed a statement with NABU about the commission of a crime by the Minister of Defense Rustem Umyerov under Part 2 of Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of power or official position).
