The Cabinet of Ministers approved the new composition of the supervisory board of Ukrzaliznytsia.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the new composition of the supervisory board of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC. This is on the government website.

The composition includes four independent members:

  • Elzbeta Eva Benkowska from Poland, who previously held the position of Minister of Infrastructure and was a European Commissioner;
  • Gepard Hafer from Germany, a logistics expert who worked for Deutsche Bahn;
  • Maxim Moklyak, former acting head of the State Fiscal Service in 2015;
  • Anatoly Amelin, entrepreneur and co-founder of the Ukrainian Institute of the Future.

The state will be represented by:

  • Davyd Lomzharia from Georgia, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Ukroboronprom;
  • Serhiy Leshchenko, former People’s Deputy and journalist;
  • Aleksandr Kamyshin, former chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia and minister of strategic industries, who continues to work in this position after his appointment in 2024.

The independent members of the board were elected based on the results of an open competition conducted by the appointment committee with the participation of an international recruiting company. The selection process was financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. According to the law, the supervisory board of Ukrzaliznytsia consists of seven members, the majority of whom must be independent.
