In the Cherkasy region, detectives of the main detective unit of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine exposed the illegal production of gasoline and diesel fuel. About this reported BEB press office.
According to the investigation, in the period from 2022 to 2024, officials of two enterprises organized the illegal production of excise products from petroleum products without the necessary license. Counterfeit fuel was sold through a network of gas stations across the country.
During searches at production sites, BEB detectives seized more than 580 tons of petroleum products, equipment for processing crude oil and gas condensate, two above-ground tanks with a total capacity of more than 40 tons, a fuel dispenser with a tank for almost 9 tons of fuel, more than half a million hryvnias in cash, documentation on illegal production and sale of fuel, as well as five mobile phones with correspondence about illegal storage and sale of products.
The estimated value of the confiscated goods is 13.5 million hryvnias. Currently, the fuel samples have been submitted for examination to check their compliance with state standards. A pre-trial investigation is ongoing on the grounds of a criminal offense provided for in part. 1 Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal acquisition, storage, transportation for the purpose of sale of excise goods).
