NMT-2026 and admission to the budget: what scores will be a guideline for applicants
Ukrainian schoolchildren preparing for the 2026 admission campaign are approaching exams in difficult conditions, as studying during the war often took place between worries, moving, distance learning, and lack of stable access to classes. For graduates, the National Multi-Subject Test is becoming one of the main stages before admission, so the published data on scores for budget places makes it possible to assess the competition without unnecessary assumptions.
Admission guidelines published
On May 6, it became known about the average NMT scores with which applicants in 2025 were enrolled in Ukrainian higher education institutions on a budget. These indicators may be useful for 2026 applicants, as they show the real level of competition in universities and in individual specialties.
The educational portal publishes detailed information about all Ukrainian universities, including the average NMT score for admission to the budget, the competition for one budget place and the number of applicants who were enrolled with state budget funds. Thanks to this, future students can compare educational institutions and assess where their chances look higher.
What is the data based on
The indicators are formed on the basis of the 2025 admission campaign. The average scores of NMT certificates of applicants who entered the first year for a bachelor’s or master’s degree in medical, pharmaceutical or veterinary medicine after grade 11 were taken into account.
The data covers applicants for full-time and part-time study. To prepare the tables, information from the Unified State Database on Education was used, which the Vstup.OSVITA.UA system received through the SE Inforesurs.
For applicants who will soon take the NMT, such data helps to soberly assess the preparation and choice of specialty. The average score of last year’s state employees does not guarantee admission in 2026, but it shows what level of results was required for enrollment in a particular university.
It is especially important that the indicators vary depending on the educational institution and the direction of training. In popular specialties, the competition is traditionally higher, so even a small difference in scores can affect the result of the admission campaign.
Registration for the NMT-2026
Ukrainian applicants will take the National Multi-Subject Test for the fifth time. According to data submitted during the main registration period, more than 347 thousand participants submitted applications, which was the largest figure since 2022.
Registration for the NMT is ongoing both in Ukraine and abroad. For many graduates who are studying away from home or abroad due to war, the ability to pass the test remains a key condition for participating in the admissions campaign.
The published scores should be perceived as a practical guideline based on the results of the previous year. They help to compare universities, assess the competition and think through priorities in advance when submitting applications.
For applicants of 2026, this data is of particular importance, since preparation for the exams takes place against the backdrop of war circumstances that affect the educational process and psychological endurance of children. That is why clear information about passing scores makes it possible to plan admission without chaotic decisions and inflated expectations.
