One day of full-scale war with Russia costs Ukraine 172 million dollars, which is approximately 7.1 billion hryvnias. This was announced during the YES 2025 conference by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Andriy Hnatov.
According to him, the country will not be able to withstand such a financial burden on its own. That is why it is critically important to attract the support of partners for the development of the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex and innovative technologies.
Hnatov emphasized that the advantage of Ukrainian forces on the battlefield appeared precisely where innovative solutions were applied, but their implementation required additional financial resources. In this regard, Ukraine is turning to its allies for help.
“We must not forget that the implementation of innovations requires enormous financial resources. Waging a war against such a large and powerful country in terms of resources, which is the occupying country of the Russian Federation, is extremely expensive,” the head of the General Staff emphasized.
We remind you that in 2024, one day of war cost Ukraine 5.7 billion hryvnias or 142 million dollars. Total defense expenditures from the state budget then reached almost 2.1 trillion hryvnias, which is 51.9 billion dollars.
