OpenAI makes Projects available to all ChatGPT users

The OpenAI company announced that the Projects function in ChatGPT is now also available for users of the free plan. It allows you to customize the instructions for the AI and determine exactly which files and data it can use.

Projects work on the principle of folders for saving chats. As part of the update, the number of files that can be added has been increased: the free plan supports up to five files, the Plus plan supports up to 25, and the Pro plan supports up to 40. Also, color and icon settings are now available to free plan users.

The feature is already live on the web version and the Android app, and iOS owners will be able to use it in the coming days. In recent years, OpenAI has been gradually opening up features for free users that were previously only available to subscribers. For example, the Deep Research and ChatGPT Voice options initially worked only in paid plans, but later became available to everyone.

At the same time, ChatGPT provided an opportunity for parents to customize the behavior of the model for children. The system allows you to customize the interaction of ChatGPT with a teenager, applying the age rules of behavior of the model, which are activated by default. In addition, parents will be able to turn off certain functions, including the memory and history of chats, and will also receive notifications if the system detects signs of stress in a teenager.
