Over 50 million embezzled on the restoration of the Trypillia TPP
The National Police, together with the Security Service of Ukraine, have uncovered a large-scale corruption scheme related to the restoration of energy infrastructure after Russian shelling. According to data of law enforcement officers, a group of individuals illegally appropriated tens of millions of hryvnias that were allocated for emergency work at the Trypillya CHPP.
The investigation established that the heads of two contracting companies were involved in organizing the scheme. According to law enforcement officers, they intentionally overestimated the cost of repair work by purchasing construction materials through controlled enterprises. At the same time, product prices were approximately 30% higher than market prices. In this way, about 50 million hryvnias were withdrawn to the accounts of affiliated structures, which were later converted into cash.

During searches of the offices and residences of the suspects, draft documentation, computer equipment and mobile phones with evidence of illegal activities, as well as more than 19 million hryvnias in cash were seized.

Currently, six participants in the deal have been notified of suspicion. If found guilty, they face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Previously, the movement of Kh-22 “Burya” cruise missiles in the direction of the Trypilska TPP was recorded. At around 6:53 on February 3, monitoring resources reported their course towards the facility, and within a few minutes, explosions were heard. Later, two more missiles and three groups of cruise missiles were recorded in the direction of Trypillya. The Ukrainian Air Force confirmed the course of the missiles towards Trypillya TPP at 6:57.
