Oleg Kiper, head of the Odesa regional military administration announced the opening of 20 beaches in Odessa, which significantly exceeds the number of locations last year.
In addition to traditional recreation on the coast, residents and guests of the region will be able to enjoy unique tourist routes. In the Izmail district, a recreation area is planned to be opened in the lagoon of the village of Primorske, and in Vylkovo, an exciting route through the canals of the city is planned.
“People cannot be restrained. They want to rest, get better. Our natural vitamin, our sun, our Black Sea, our beaches today cannot be replaced by any complex of vitamins, no matter what we offer. Therefore, we are trying to make as many open beaches as possible,” – noted Oleg Kiper.
At the same time, the regional authorities are carefully studying the safety of vacationers, in particular the effectiveness of setting nets for detecting mines in the sea. Beach owners offer alternative monitoring methods, as the nets often break and do not always guarantee the desired result.
“Those mines that we saw in the sea were floating on the surface, it was near Ishmael, they are big, the military detects them immediately. As for the small ones, that year they arrived from Kherson and the Dnipro, they are about 10-15 cm under water. That’s why we put nets. Now they are not there, we are studying the issue of their effectiveness. There was a lot of criticism that the water tears the net, I understand, and at a meeting with the business, one of the owners of the beach said that he changed them almost every week and it did not work. You hope that it is there, but the water has already torn it from below”Oleg Kiper emphasized.
We will remind you that last year the beach season in the Odesa region started only in August due to the difficult situation caused by the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP. Only six beaches officially functioned in Odessa.
