People’s deputies summoned Minister of Education Lisovyi to report to the Verkhovna Rada on teachers’ salaries
People’s deputies supported the decision to summon the Minister of Education and Science, Oksen Lisovoy, for a report in the parliament. 185 people’s elected representatives voted for the relevant decision, reported People’s Deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko.
“I offered to listen to him regarding the situation with the salaries of teachers, educators, assistant educators, technical workers. In general, the situation in the field of education is catastrophic. 185 deputies are in favor! These votes are enough to summon the minister. We are waiting for Lisovoy in the Council!”, – says the message.
In the summer of 2024, Minister of Forestry informed that the average salary of a teacher in Ukraine is 12 thousand hryvnias, and that of preschool teachers – only 6 thousand hryvnias. For 2025, the government has announced bonuses for teachers: from January 1, they will receive 1,000 hryvnias (1,300 hryvnias before tax), and from September 1 – 2,000 hryvnias (2,600 hryvnias before tax).
“I understand that this decision does not solve all the problems that exist today with teachers’ salaries, and it is the first step towards changing the situation even in the conditions of martial law and budget deficit.” – noted the minister then.
