Petition for annual military bonus garners nearly 22,000 signatures
The petition to introduce an annual progressive reward for military personnel for each full year of service during the war collected almost 22 thousand votes. The petition was submitted by a volunteer, Senior Lieutenant Andriy Dmytrenko, who has been fighting since 2022.
In his appeal, he proposes to establish an annual payment that will double with each year of service: 50 thousand hryvnias for the first year, 100 thousand – for the second, 200 thousand – for the third and 200 thousand hryvnias – for the fourth. The author emphasizes that payments should be provided for the actual period of service during the war, and demobilized soldiers should also receive funds for the years of service.
The petition states that periods of voluntary abandonment of service and other exceptions are not taken into account, and the calculation is resumed after the soldier returns to the unit.
The initiator also proposes to establish a state combat award, the “Cross of the Long Guard”, which will be awarded after the first year of service in wartime conditions and will be supplemented with new elements in subsequent years. The award should serve as a visible confirmation of endurance, loyalty and many years of service.
“This is not just another ribbon on a uniform. It is a testament to a path that is not visible to civilians. This is a new military tradition that the country should start now”, – emphasizes the author of the petition.
