Police open criminal case over party at Kyiv club on Day of Mourning

Law enforcement officers opened criminal proceedings because of a party that took place in one of the Kyiv clubs on the Day of Mourning for those killed as a result of the massive Russian attack on the night of July 31. About this reported press service of the Kyiv National Police.
During the monitoring of social networks, the police found a video recording an entertainment event in one of the institutions of the Holosiiv district on the day when the country honored the memory of 31 victims, including five children.
The police promptly arrived at the scene. However, the doors of the club were closed, and the staff refused to open them at the request of the law enforcement officers. In this regard, an urgent search was conducted, during which more than 30 visitors and the institution’s administration were found in the premises.
All those present were taken to the territorial police department. Regarding them, administrative protocols have been drawn up under Art. 173 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (petty hooliganism) and Art. 185 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (malicious disobedience to the lawful demand of a police officer). Sanctions include a fine or administrative arrest for up to 15 days.
Due to the fact that a loud event was held on the day of mourning, criminal proceedings were opened under part. 1 Art. 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — hooliganism. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
