Private business occupies most of the drone development sector for the Armed Forces: Ministry of Defense (video)
Deputy Minister of Defense Dmytro Klimenkov reported that almost 100% of drones used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine are developed in Ukraine, and most of them are created by private companies.
“It’s not only about military efficiency, but also about the economy.”, – emphasized Klimenkov.
The Ministry of Defense actively supports the development of innovative unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and recently held the first competitive bidding through Prozorro for the purchase of 20,000 drones worth about UAH 3 billion.
“We have already contracted about 7,000 drones and are continuing this process“, Klimenkov noted.
He reminded that the Defense Procurement Agency recently for the first time announced competitive bidding in closed mode through Prozorro for the purchase of 20,000 drones, with an estimated cost of up to UAH 3 billion.
“Bidding took place, and now about 7,000 more are undergoing verification and qualification. And more than UAH 1 billion of this budget has already been used, and we are moving along this path.” – emphasized the Deputy Minister of Defense.
