Project on remote survey of destroyed housing on TOT needs scaling: Vereshchuk
The experimental project on the remote survey of destroyed housing in the territories temporarily occupied by the Russians is effective and needs to be scaled up.
About this informs Ministry of Reintegration.
Until recently, it was possible to inspect the housing destroyed as a result of hostilities and record it in the State Real Estate Register (for the purpose of paying compensation to the owners) only in the territory under the control of the government of Ukraine.
However, a pilot project was recently launched, which makes it possible to confirm the destruction of housing on the TOT with the help of information products of remote sensing of the Earth – aerial photography. The implementation of the project began in Melitopol.
The participants of the meeting were introduced to the first results of its implementation.
During the period of project implementation, the commission under the Melitopol City Council was able to consider and record in the State Register 4 applications for compensation for destroyed real estate objects. Housing certificates have already been issued for two of them for payment of compensation to the owners.
The participants of the meeting agreed that the tool of remote sensing of the Earth makes it possible to establish the fact of destruction of certain categories of real estate objects and provide compensation to their owners.
“This project really works. It needs to be scaled up and spread to other temporarily occupied territories where there are destroyed Ukrainian homes. I am talking primarily about Mariupol. After all, the Russians are demolishing destroyed houses there and building new ones in their place. Therefore, it is very important to record in time the destruction that the enemy has caused to our cities, and not to give him the opportunity to hide these crimes“, Vereshchuk emphasized.
