Registration for a free financial literacy course for women has started in Ukraine
In Ukraine, registration for a free financial literacy course for women has begun. The project is implemented by the Projector Foundation in partnership with the Credobank Foundation and with the support of the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine and the State Employment Service.
Course “ I rely on myself” created in accordance with the strategy of the Ministry of Economy to reduce the gender pay gap. According to the State Statistics Service, before the start of the full-scale war, the difference in salaries between women and men in Ukraine was 18.6%.
“The role of women in the economy changed during the full-scale invasion. We see a trend that women have started to create their own businesses and master new professions that could previously be considered purely male. Therefore, it is also important to have such projects on the formation of financial skills and increasing financial literacy of women, because this strengthens their capacity in entrepreneurship and on the labor market.
Currently, we are preparing a new Code of Labor Laws, which, in particular, aims to modernize the legislation in the field of labor relations, change outdated discriminatory norms and adapt the legislation to the modern conditions of the employers’ market, says Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine Daria Marchak.
The program will run for two months in an online format. Participants will be able to learn tools for drawing up a personal financial plan. The course includes webinars and mentoring sessions with the curator, financial consultant Oksana Zhelezko.
“Today, financial freedom is a way to take care of yourself, your family and your future. Especially in the conditions of war, when the economic pressure on women increases. Women are more likely to have unstable incomes, less access to financial education, and less confidence in salary negotiations. My mission is for as many women as possible in Ukraine to become financially independent. That is why I create financial literacy projects, and that is why this course appeared, Oksana Zhelezko notes.
Women over the age of 18 who are self-employed, who want to confidently manage their budget and feel financial independence can take the course. Registration will continue until September 24:
Lectures will also be available in the recording – for this you need to submit an application. Course topics cover the basics of budgeting, building a financial cushion, loans, investment tools, the role of charity in personal finance, the psychology of money, and more. The course will help those who want to establish a healthy relationship with money, but hesitate where to start or are afraid to figure it out on their own.
“Today, women are increasingly making key financial decisions, especially in times of war. Credobank Foundation, with over 30 years of experience, shares best practices to support them. For me, this project is not only about corporate responsibility, but also about a personal mission: to make financial instruments accessible and understandable, so that Ukrainian women can confidently plan their future and the future of their families, – said Solomiya Govorukha, CEO of the Kredobank Foundation.
