Russia and Belarus have planned joint military exercises “West-2025”
Belarus will conduct joint military exercises “West-2025” with Russia, in which more than 13 thousand soldiers will take part. This was reported by the Belarusian state agency BelTA.
“The exercises are large, observational – there are more than 13 thousand people. We are currently developing a position on inviting the OSCE participating states to these exercises.” – said Valery Revenko, head of the Department of International Military Cooperation of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.
At the same time, he emphasized that he cannot guarantee an invitation for states that have a “negative or idiosyncratic” attitude to the 2011 Vienna document, which Belarus adheres to. In particular, this applies to Poland, Estonia, Latvia and other countries that previously did not invite Belarus to their training.
“Again, we are not saying no. We are saying that we will look at the next steps that the leadership of these countries and the leadership of the defense agencies will take,” Revenko emphasized.
Zahid-2025 military exercises are scheduled for September 2025.
