Russia promised to send the US conditions for the cessation of hostilities against Ukraine

After a phone call between President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, Moscow promised to give the United States “the conditions it will need to achieve a ceasefire” with Ukraine. This was stated by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio during a hearing in the Senate, informsPolitician.

“As we understand it, the Russians are going to write the terms that they will demand in order to achieve a ceasefire, which would then allow for broader negotiations. We are waiting for those terms, and then we will have a much better understanding of Putin’s calculations when we see what those terms will look like.” Rubio said.

His comments were further evidence that the United States has no intention of quickly changing its position on Russia, despite the fact that many European officials and parliamentarians are convinced that Putin is simply buying time.

A two-hour phone call between Trump and Putin on May 19 failed to produce a breakthrough on a ceasefire or the start of negotiations, causing frustration among Washington’s European and Ukrainian allies. They expected more decisive actions from the US to put pressure on Putin.

In response to questions from Democratic and Republican senators during a meeting of the Committee on International Relations, Rubio expressed support for the actions of President Donald Trump, which he carried out in the direction of resolving the conflict.
