Russian Federation strikes a multi-storey building in Kharkiv with a KAB: 2 killed, 34 injured
In Kharkiv, Russian troops hit a nine-storey residential building with a guided aerial bomb, causing numerous destructions and injuries. The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported on the situation.
‘As of this moment, 34 people have been injured. One child has died. Rescuers have unblocked body fragments from the rubble. An expert examination will be conducted to identify the victims. So the death toll has increased to two people!’ he wrote.
It is known that the attack took place in the Saltovsky district, presumably with the use of a FAB-500 bomb. The third and fourth floors of the building were destroyed.
An 11-year-old boy was pulled out of the rubble and taken to hospital with severe injuries, including head injuries and multiple fractures. Despite attempts at resuscitation, doctors were unable to save him.
Three people, including a woman and a child, may still be trapped in the rubble, and some residents of the upper floors are locked in their apartments.
A fire broke out at the site of the impact, and rescuers are actively searching for it, despite the high risk of the building collapsing, Sinegubov said.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to the attack, stressing that every delay in decision-making by partners allows Russia to continue such attacks.
‘Our partners see what is happening every day. And in these circumstances, each decision they delay means at least dozens or even hundreds of such Russian bombs against Ukraine. Their decisions mean the lives of our people. That is why we must stop Russia together and do it with all possible force,’ the Head of State stressed.
