SBU drones hit 5 Russian fighter jets at Saki airfield

Security Service of Ukraine reported about carrying out a special operation at the “Saki” military airfield in the temporarily occupied Crimea at night. According to the SBU, as a result of the strike by Ukrainian drones, five Russian fighter jets and a warehouse of aviation weapons were hit.

“Drones of the Central Security Service “A” of the SBU “visited” the Saki military airfield in the temporarily occupied Crimea. As a result of the strike on the territory of the airfield, an aviation weapons warehouse was damaged. The Su-30SM aircraft was completely destroyed, another one was damaged. Three Su-24 aircraft were also damaged., says the message.

According to the estimates of the Ukrainian special service, the Russian side has suffered serious losses: the cost of one Su-30SM fighter is approximately 35 to 50 million dollars. The airfield “Saki” plays an important role for air operations of Russia in the waters of the Black Sea. In addition, an aviation ammunition depot was destroyed during the attack.

“The successful SBU special operation in Saki is another step towards weakening the enemy’s ability to wage a war of aggression against Ukraine. The occupiers should remember that they will never feel safe on our land.” – added the SBU.
