Researchers have found that a two-hour conversation is enough for artificial intelligence to be able to accurately reproduce your personality. About this informs arXiv.
Sociologists traditionally use surveys as the main research method. However, their implementation requires significant resources — time, effort, and finances. Therefore, scientists thought about whether it is possible to automate the process of recording personal characteristics, in order to then use them to create more effective surveys.
The experiment involved 1,000 volunteers who participated in two-hour interviews with an artificial intelligence model based on the LLM (Large Language Model), namely ChatGPT. This time turned out to be enough for the AI to learn to imitate the thinking style, behavior and predict the participants’ answers to various questions.
To check the results, the scientists asked the same questions to both the participants and the artificial intelligence model. The results showed that the AI is able to predict the answers with an accuracy of up to 85%.
The researchers believe that the personalities modeled in this way will have significant potential for application. They can become useful not only for sociological research, but also for improving the functionality of existing AI agents. In addition, such models can be used to develop personal robots that can better adapt to the individual needs and characteristics of users.
