Searches are being conducted in the Kharkiv City Council due to suspicion of embezzlement of budget funds

On the morning of May 14, searches began in the Kharkiv City Council. Investigative actions are being carried out by employees of the Security Service of Ukraine and the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office. The searches are taking place in the Digital Transformation Department, headed by Halyna Lytvynets.

According to information from media sources in law enforcement agencies, the investigative actions are related to the case of possible embezzlement of budget funds during the implementation of one of the department’s projects.

Kharkov Mayor Ihor Terekhov stated that “there are no untouchables” and announced that an internal audit was being conducted.

“My assessment is that we have no untouchables despite their merits during the war. If someone allows themselves to “hooliganize,” a special commission will be created, we will analyze everything, if we find violations, I will personally contact law enforcement agencies with a demand to conduct an objective investigation,” – the mayor said.

At the same time, Terekhov refused to comment on the investigative actions until the official conclusions appear and reported that There are currently no detainees.

The Department of Digital Transformation of the Kharkiv City Council is engaged in the implementation of digital services and city electronic platforms. Among its projects are the “1562” system, Open Kharkiv, “Kharkiv Citizen Portal”, Smart City Kharkiv, X-card and other digital city services.
