Searches in Ukraine and Poland: the purchase of weapons at inflated prices is being investigated
Today, detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) together with Polish law enforcement officers conducted searches as part of the investigation into the possible purchase of weapons at inflated prices.
About this write NABU:
“On April 9, 2024, searches were conducted on the territory of Ukraine and the Republic of Poland within the scope of the case regarding the possible purchase of weapons at inflated prices in April 2022 – February 2023“, the message says.
The investigative actions in question were made possible thanks to the effective cooperation of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) with several key partners: the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP), the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Department for Combating Criminal Terror and Murders of the Metropolitan Police Department of the Republic of Poland.
Searches:
- Investigative actions took place on the territory of Ukraine and the Republic of Poland.
- The purpose of the searches is to investigate the supply chain of foreign weapons and verify information about a possible artificial overestimation of its value due to the involvement of intermediary companies registered outside of Ukraine
- The collected evidence will be used to provide a legal assessment of the actions of the officials involved in the arms procurement.
