Kateryna, the wife of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, registered a new 2022 Range Rover Sport worth about 191,000 USD to a company without active economic activity, using the car for domestic purposes. At the same time, the car is not included in Denis Shmyhal’s declaration. About this it is said in the “Investigation.Info” investigation.
Although officially the vehicle was purchased allegedly for the needs of Kateryna Shmygal’s new business, journalists recorded the use of the car in everyday life – near the family’s house in Lviv, as well as in recorded violations of traffic rules by automatic recording cameras.
The new car is not listed in the property declaration of the head of government, which calls into question the transparency of reporting. It is known that in February 2024, Kateryna Shmyhal registered the private enterprise “KADiS UA”, which was supposed to specialize in the hotel business and property rental. Journalists did not find any active economic activity of the company. However, in April, a new 2022 Range Rover Sport was registered to the company, previously listed for sale at $84,500. Before that, Kateryna sold her previous 2016 Range Rover.
Despite the lack of mention of the car in the declaration, the company “KADiS UA” appears there. According to the investigation, the car was repeatedly seen near the Shmyhals’ house and at least three traffic violations were recorded, in particular on June 29 on a day off. Journalists also received photos where the car is parked in the yard, which further confirms its use for private purposes.
The Shmyhalov family ignored the journalists’ requests. Kateryna Shmyhal did not answer calls and messages during the week, and the Prime Minister’s Office refused to comment on the situation with the car.
This is not the first time that Kateryna Shmyhal’s business activities have been mentioned. Previously, she was associated with a bakery and a bicycle rental company, but after public publicity, she quickly left the company’s founders.
