Martial law and mobilization have been extended in Ukraine

The Verkhovna Rada once again approved the continuation of martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine. The legal regime will remain in place for at least another 90 days. About this informs people’s deputy from the “Voice” party Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

During the regular session of the parliament, people’s deputies supported draft laws No. 13172 and No. 13173, which were introduced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky the day before.

357 deputies voted for the extension of martial law, and 346 voted for the extension of general mobilization. Only one people’s deputy – Oleksiy Goncharenko from the “European Solidarity” faction – spoke against it.

This is the fifteenth consecutive extension of the martial law and mobilization regime. They will enter into force on May 9, 2025 and will last until August 6. To enter into force, the decision must be signed by Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

We will remind that martial law was first introduced in Ukraine on the morning of February 24, 2022 for a period of 30 days. Subsequently, its validity was repeatedly extended, and already in May 2022, the validity period was extended to three months.
